I am Me

you "I am me? Isn't that obvious?"
me "Yes but are you happy with you? Do you look at your face and think, I like what I see! There's no improvement I would make to this face!"
you "Yes, but no, my skin is all blotchy. I think I'm going to buy that moisturiser that evens out my skin tone. That will fix everything"
me "Yes maybe it will work, and maybe it wont. What will you do if it doesn't?"
you "Well that's what foundations for, isn't it?"

I don't know the answers to life, but I think its rather sad that our world has come to this. I look in the mirror and I cringe at my skin. I inspect every bump and scar. Is this really the way life's supposed to be? Are we supposed to dislike what we are? No, if you think about it, a few red spots on your face isn't that big of a deal/ Preteens and teenagers sometimes stay home from school when they have a breakout, or stand in front of mirrors hating themselves. This is so wrong. So much for the "American Dream", North America the land of happiness and fulfilment. How is this so when we are conditioned to hate our skin. You are not more successful if you have perfect skin. Your not a better person, your not a nicer person, BLABLABLA. Now, I'M not trying to bring those with perfect skin down, all I am saying is that those of us with spots that no face wash or skin regimin will fix shouldn't stress ourselves out SO FRIGGEN MUCH. We need to learn to look at skin a different way.

E is for Emotions.

We all have them, we all have different levels of them, and we all scrutinize ourselves for our emotions at least one point in our lives.

When it comes to emotions there isn't always an answer for controlling them. No two people are alike, and while I strongly believe a world without emotions as we know it would be a boring one and we should embrace it, I constantly curse the "heavens" for it being so.

All it takes is an image, scent, or sound, that triggers a memory so change a good day to a horrible day.

I wish it were as easy as 1-2-3 but sadly no, changing your own mind can prove to be difficult at time.

Anyways, nothing works better than keeping a journal and venting to a pal. Though in my experience, there is only so much venting one can take, most people don't want to hear how upset you are daily... kinda gets a little annoying.

This has been a note to self and a note to you!

Lets Think About it.

First off watch this.

Now think, how much of your routine do you do because its whats done? What do I mean whats done? I mean because its what your mother did, your friends do, the media says YOU SHOULD do. Whens the last time you have actually questioned "Why do we do this?". Whether its cosmetic, religious, routine, or just plain old diet. I find my family has become increasingly lazy over the years. We drive what would take us ten minutes to walk, we eat more frozen prepared foods, and we do things just because its the way we've been doing it for years. What frustrates me the most is the simplest, when we are making food or pouring a glass of milk, and we leave the fridge open the WHOLE TIME. Ridiculously simple I know, it only wastes a little energy (despite the fact that it adds up over time), but we never think about the simple.

Convenience stores, frozen food, driving everywhere.

GAAAA

My friends are so perplexed why I don't have my drivers licence and why on earth i would EVER... EEEVAARR want to take the buss, bike or walk.

I know this is a little off topic from the video I posted but Laci really gets me thinking. She always states a valid question that makes me question the way my life is right now.

I do so much because its routine.

We do so much because its how its done.

Its amazing how humans adapt to whats around them and bodies of people can be almost identical but when someones different they are scrutinized. Really they should be celebrated, its easy to be like those around you but hard to step out as an individual.

Your not a lost cause just because you are the way you are. Shine beyond that belief.

Who? What? When? Where? Why?

WARNING THE FOLLOWING POST IS RAMBLING. I DID NOT STRUCTURE MY PARAGRAPHS IN ANY WAY.
People have lost their touch, everything always has to MEAN something. Now I'M all for poetry, philosophy, and what-not but I just need to ask that question. WHY must everything MEAN something?

I say this while being ironic, pondering why we ponder. Regardless the question still stands.

Can we always blame the media? What has become of monogamy, is it really "an institution that's in decay"?

While I ponder this I realize, life has changed, not for me, but for humanity. The concept of what life was is now under question. Its acceptable to have or not have religion. its acceptable to be black white or what not. Its acceptable to or not to be married. Its acceptable to or not to be a stay at home mother(f.y.i I am not but my mother is.). Its acceptable to be gay. While all these things are accepted be still scrutinize and over analyze, so much so that we don't realize life isn't black and white, life is a chain of decisions that used to have those strong social barriers on them but now the chains are broken. With these broken chains we do not know what to do. They still remain reminding us of what we once were, some still follow the beliefs of the past.
